A 2-way pallet allows forklift or pallet jack access from only two opposite sides, making it stronger and more rigid but less maneuverable. In contrast, a 4-way pallet can be accessed from all four sides, offering greater flexibility and efficiency in handling but may be slightly less sturdy. The choice depends on whether strength (2-way) or ease of movement (4-way) is the priority.

Heat Treatment (HT) uses high temperatures (56°C for 30 minutes) to kill pests in wood without chemicals. Fumigation Treatment (MB) involves using methyl bromide gas to eliminate pests. Both Treatment do not promise poses environmental and health risks, because it depend on the storage period and environment.

A treated Wooden Packaging Material (WPM) can be stored indefinitely in a warehouse as long as it remains dry, protected from pests, and not altered (cut, repaired, or modified). However, some countries may require re-treatment if the WPM is stored for an extended period before export, so it's best to check specific regulations.

The color variations in tropical wood are primarily due to the presence of different chemical compounds called "extractives" within the wood, which vary between species and even within the same tree, influencing the color depending on their concentration and composition; these extractives react with oxygen when exposed to air, causing the wood to change color over time.
